Supernova will be in new show called 'Korean Lessons Through the television'

On February 21st, Hallyu group Supernova revealed through a press conference that they will be teaching Korean through the Japanese network, ‘NHK‘. The show will be called “Korean Lessons Through the Television“.

Starting March 29th, the members will be teaching everyday terms on a bi-weekly basis. Yoonhak, who’s known for his fluency in Japanese, confessed, “I’ve always wanted to be on the show as a student. I want to work hard for a year, and for two, three, even 10 years, I want to continue the program.”

Sungmo added, “I’m glad to be able to appear on an educational program like this. We’ll be working hard to pronounce things as ‘prettily’ as we can.”

Supernova leader Yunhak will be enlisting in the army next year in May

Although they are enjoying great success in the J-pop industry, Supernova’s label revealed that leader Yunhak (26) will be enlisting in the army next year in May.

Even though it has only been a little over a year since their debut, the boy band recently held a solo concert in the Yokohoma Arena in Japan, which is said to be a place where only top stars perform.

Yunhak, having graduated from a university in Japan, is a natural Japanese speaker and pulled the group through tough times. He had been a fundamental part in bringing the group to their current position, and their company has revealed that it had been a very hard decision. However, Yunhak decided not to pull his enlistment date further back and enter with pride for his country.

Before he goes on a two year absence, Yunhak will star in NHK’s 70th anniversary drama, My Lovely Kimchi, which is meant to spread the Korean culture.

Supernova live concert at Yokohama will be released as a 3D Movie

Korean group Choshinsei (Supernova) held a fan event at Kudan Kaikan on December 20th, and at the event, they announced that their first Japanese best album, “SUPERNOVA BEST“, would be released on January 26th.

They also announced that their live concert at Yokohama Arena ,which will be held on December 21st, will be released as a 3D movie. The 3D movie will be watched in 15 theaters across Japan, and it will start on March 26th.

The leader of the group, Yunhak, said that he wants to hold a live concert at Nissan Stadium the year after next, and to do so, he would work hard next year. Yunhak also said that he wishes to top the Oricon chart as well.

Maknae Jiyeon said, “I’m only in high school so it’s a pity that I don’t really get to make friends in school because of my schedule.”

Boram commented, “Because I’m a girl group member, I have to watch my diet. I really love eating so it’s stressful even when I’m eating dduk-bok-i (Korean spicy rice cake dish).”

Hyomin added, “These days, the battles between girl groups are tough. There’s a lot of stress because of that, but it makes us work harder.”

Then they were asked, “What place would you rank yourself out of the girl groups?” Soyeon answered, “If we had to pick, I think #5. You have to consider the groups that aren’t active at the moment like the Wonder Girls and 2NE1. But it’s hard to talk about who’s better than another. But in the end, we want the #1 spot.”

Leader Eunjung closed off by saying, “Thank you for all the attention you’re giving us. We will work very hard.”

T-Ara has won a Cyworld Digital Music Award for TTL

During the last 38th Music Awards, they had won "Rookie of the Month" for "Lies" and now they have won the "ting's Choice Artist" for "TTL" for the 39th awards. That's two consecutive awards for the new girl group. The ting's choice award is given to the artist that receives the most love in the month.

It will be different the second time around though as they get to receive the award on stage with their good friends Supernova.
