Baek Ji Young's agency revealed,

"Baek Ji Young is now taking a rest at her home under her parents' care. Her conditions were critical even when she needed to go up the stage, and was carried by her manager. However, Baek Ji Young wanted to make an apology herself to the audience, so we had to let her go.

The doctor suggested to extend the rest at least until the end of this month. However, Baek Ji Young was stubborn to keep that promise made between herself and the fans by appearing on those scheduled stages. She also didn't want to cause any harm to the other artists who have planned to perform on joint stages with her."

Meanwhile, Baek Ji Young will still be singing Don't Forget at KBS 2TV's Gayo Grand Festival and will be performing My Ear's Candy with Lee Seung Gi as her male partner at MBC's Gayo Grand Celebration.

Baek Ji Young has been in a critical health condition

In January 2009, the singer had surgery for her vocal chords. Her vocal chords didn't fully recover after the surgery so she wasn't supposed overuse her voice afterwards. However, due to her career, Baek Ji Young used her voice very often anyway and even developed a critical cold at one point. On top of that, she has low blood pressure so her health was at its worst.

A few days ago, Baek wasn't feeling very well but was strong enough to complete her schedule for this week. On December 26, Baek Ji Young completed her concert, "Baek Ji Young's Dinner Party," successfully, to fans' relief. She suffered from a high fever and dizziness but tried her hardest to complete her concert. However, on the 27th, during her second concert, Baek Ji Young's health didn't improve and unfortunately got worse. She apologized to her fans during the concert and was taken to the hospital.

She even attended yesterday's 2009 KBS Entertainment Awards but it seems like the appearance wasn't such a good idea. Completing a concert then attending an awards show just made her condition worse. Because of that, she had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night to recover.

However, even this ER visit didn't hinder Baek's determination. Instead of canceling her next day's concert, Baek Ji Young decided to go through with her concert even though it was hard for her to even stand up. She went to her concert and performed five songs straight. Then the fever and dizziness really struck her and she started to cry from the pain.

After performing Don't Forget, Baek said, "I don't want to faint in front of you guys. I'm so sorry I performed in front of you in this condition. I cannot continue this concert. I'm sorry to be letting people down. For those of you who came today, I want to make it up for you guys very soon. Please leave your name and address and I will invite you all to another show."

As soon as she stepped off-stage, she fainted and was taken to the hospital. She is currently recovering at a hospital by taking some time to rest.
