Q: Your character business is flourishing.

It’s truly beyond my expectation. Thanks to my brother Kibum that’s why it’s flourishing. Kibum even did the packaging of products himself, and also stuffed the cottonwool into the toys. The character cushions that were supplied to us and meant to be sold over 1 year has been sold out in only 2~3 months. Response in Japan and China is good too. Not long ago we also recruited 2 employees who are good in foreign language. We’ll start on aggressive overseas sales too. After the character ‘Piro Piro’ that was already released first, will be followed by another character ‘Siro Siro’. Our company is filled with the Festival Atmosphere. Haha.


Q: How do you distribute the profits raked in from your business?

I give it all to my brother. Because he’s the one working more aggressively his guts out for this.

Q: Your brother Kibum withdrew from U-Kiss. How will his future broadcast activities turn out like?

He’s looking for an agency that will blend in well with him. Should there be any good agency for him, he’ll start his broadcast activities thereafter. It’ll be good if Kibum could succeed at first go, but I hope for him to become a singer who develops better and better over each stage by each step consistently.

Kibum talked more about withdrawal from Ukiss on KBS

Following the news of U-Kiss’ Kim Kibum and Alexander leaving the group due to the agency desiring member replacements, Kim Kibum recently made an appearance on KBS’s “Entertainers” to explain the current situation in a bit more depth.

Kibum's Interview

Hello, this is Kim Kibum.
First of all, I’m very sorry for having to meet everyone for this news.
And I’m immensely sorry for having to reveal my no make-up face… I’ve been having a hard time you see… (Laughs)

Q: What is the current situation?
A: My contract with my former agency has been cancelled. Around February, the agency told me that they would like to do some member replacements, and when I asked if it was me who was to get replaced, they replied yes.

First of all, they said my vocal role in the group was weak. I respected my agency’s opinion and agreed to cancel my contract.

Q: What is the reason behind “Kim Kibum withdrawing” being such a hot topic of discussion?
A: (Laughs) Well, I think there were a lot of areas I lacked in. I think my capability as a singer was lacking.

Q: There is talk that you withdrew to focus on your business?
I don’t know how that rumor came about. Because my activities ended after my contract was cancelled, for about a month I didn’t participate in activities during U-Kiss’ promotions.

To be honest, I didn’t say anything in that time because I didn’t want it to affect the other members. I think that caused the misunderstanding. Our fans were misunderstanding the situation, and were saying things like, “Has he stopped U-Kiss promotions because of his business?” and “If you’re going to put your focus on your business, then just become an entrepreneur”. So I think that misunderstanding came about during that one month.

Q: What is the response from fans?

A: There are a lot of fans who’ve told me to come back, and there are a lot who say it’s not U-Kiss without seven members. I’m apologetic towards the fans because of how this situation came out to be. They believed in me, so I’m hurt that Alexander and I had to withdraw from U-Kiss. I’m a bit disappointed that I didn’t get to stay on my will.

If U-Kiss becomes more successful with member replacements, then I guess I’m fine with that.

Q: What was your brother’s reaction to the situation?
My brother seemed really hurt that we couldn’t go right till the end together and that I ended up getting off the bus halfway through. He said to me, “I wanted you to do well; I don’t know how the situation came to be like this.”

I was okay with it, but my brother got angry (Laughs). But he said that things like this can happen, and told me to always have strength.

I’m planning to push forward with my personal activities, and I’ll work hard to achieve success with my character business.

I’m very sorry that I had to show myself in a situation like this, but I will do my best to show a better image of myself.

After all the speculations and confirmations regarding Alexander and Kibum’s withdrawal from U-Kiss, Kim Kibum’s older brother Kim Hyungjun has left an encouraging message to his sibling on microblogging site Twitter.

Kim Hyungjun’s message follows Kim Kibum’s long apology, explaining his side of NH Media’s decision to terminate his contract. On the 24th of February, Hyungjun sent message to Kibum saying, “My lovely younger brother, I know it’s hard right now but your life will be full of good people and good things so you don’t need to worry. There are things like this and like that while living, so let’s just smile ^^.” Furthermore, he ended his encouraging message with a final statement saying, “We’ll tell everyone the truth, so hwaiting my little brother.”

Meanwhile, fans of the “Kim Brothers” expressed their support by leaving replies such as, “Yes, be there for Kibum. Help him stand up again.” and “Thanks for the good advice to him! The quiet member of Super Junior, Kim Kibum, revealed his feelings on rumors about him withdrawing from the boy band. In a recent interview, he was asked whether or not it upset him that he couldn’t promote the album with his members. He answered, “I get over my sorrow about not being able to work with my members by acting.”

Kibum debuted as an actor in 2004 and as a singer in 2005 so he’s been an actor longer than he has been a SuJu member. He was active as a member of Super Junior for six years, so when he wasn’t present for promotions of Super Junior’s 3rd album Sorry Sorry, people began to question his status in the group, wondering if the celebrity had withdrawn. It’s been around a year since he’s worked with the members of Super Junior. However, Kibum explained that his absence on stage didn’t mean that he wasn’t a part of Super Junior.

“Because I’m not on stage a lot, people say that I'm the mysterious member of Super Junior,” Kibum said. “I focus on acting so I may look a bit mysterious.”

When asked about what his dream for the future, he said, “I want to be a good person, a perfect person. Of course I want to become a great actor. I look up to Song Kang Ho, Sul Kyung Goo and Choi Min Shik.”

It’d be nice to see him with the rest of the members on stage pretty soon. The only thing that bothers me is that all the members have their solo activities but Kibum is the only one that is unable to make compromises.

“I had watched a lot of plays, practiced acting and travelled back and fort to USA. It was an important time to me. I had had spare time but then I felt like I want to act the serious roles. I think it is good reward to me because now I can accomplish anything”

When being asked if he felt sad that he couldnt perform with Super Junior when they had their hit song, Kim Kibum said “I want to act more” and “I dont regret” while shaking his head, “I had watched Suju got their no.1 and I’m very happy”.

“Suju is a group that being active in many fields. I’m just the one who only want to act, but it (acting) is also a part of Suju activities. It’s not that only when Suju are on stage Suju are Suju. Shindong’s is still a part of Suju activities and mine (my acting) is just the same. Of course there is chance that I will appear on the stage again but it seems that I cant do two things at the same time and both acting & singing are art.”

U-Kiss' Ki Bum, brother of SS501's Kim Hyung Joon, recently had an interview with Newsen along with the other members. In the interview, Ki Bum commented:

I couldn't see my brother for two weeks after my comeback, but on a recent broadcast of KBS's Music Bank, I was able to meet him. SS501 hyungs helped us [U-Kiss] a lot as they talked about us in their interviews."

On November 20th's Music Bank, SS501 won the K-Chart [twice in a row]. Regarding their win, Ki Bum commented:

I feel great to see SS501, which my brother is in, win the 1st place.

Although he is happy for his brother, he expressed his desire to become like his brother:

To this point, I was always 'behind' my brothers [SS501], but now I want to stay right 'beside' them. I have thought about wanting to be in the position where the SS501 hyungs are in right now.

Super Junior,'Goodbye' KiBum didnt participing Super Junior's concert

Super Junior KiBum has been known to have injured his legs and will not be participating for Super Junior’s concert opening in July.
