YG Entertainment announced that they’ll be donating $500,000 USD to the relief efforts in Japan.

A representative of YG Entertainment spoke with OSEN and revealed, “We are still discussing which organization to donate to. Funds for the campaign donations were taken from album sales, and a lot of Japanese fans have taken part in the campaign throughout the years. This donation will be made to give back that support the Japanese fans have shown us.”

They continued, “Campaign donations were always made at the year-end, but due to the sudden disaster in Japan, we’ve decided to go ahead and run the campaign earlier this year to aid in the relief efforts. We’re all extremely upset with the natural disasters affecting the nation.”

Other stars who have publicly donated relief funds include Bae Yong Joon, Ryu Shi Won, Choi Ji Woo, Kim Hyun Joong, Jang Geun Suk, Lee Byung Hun, Song Seung Hun and KARA.

Yang Hyunsuk's said 'I know my artist are always imitating my voice'

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyunsuk’s voice is infamous as YG artists are always imitating his voice in a high, nasally and comic way. Yang Hyunsuk said in an interview:

“My artists are always imitating me, so of course I would watch the shows they’re on. They never do this in front of me but when I see them imitating my voice on shows, I think ‘Ah! So they always fool around like this’ and ‘Ah! So my tone is like this’. I’m not unhappy with the imitations, in fact I find it very interesting.”

He also said that he likes PSY and Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Seungri’s imitations the most, stating:

“When I saw G-Dragon and PSY imitating me on a show, I thought it was very similar and very funny. Seungri imitated my voice at last years YG Family concert. It was very well done.”

YG,didnt care about plagiarism and said Mariah Carey 'standing O' sounds samiliar to 2ne1 'In the Club'

YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Seok refutes back after they have received warning from Sony ATV for plagiarism case for 4 songs produced by the company – GDragon’s ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘Butterfly’, Big Bang’s ‘With U’ and 2NE1 ‘I Don’t Care’.

He left a message on YG homepage on 24th September, “We understand that it is in Sony ATV’s interests to protect the rights of its song composers.”

“Recently Mariah Carey’s song ‘Standing O’ sounds similar to 2NE1’s ‘In The Club’ released 3 months earlier. There are 8 lines, and 24 seconds that sounds similar, and with the repetition, the total length of the song that sounds similar is up to 1 min. But SonyATV did not say anything about Mariah Carey’s song plagiarising 2NE1’s song.”


He also added, “Even though this is embarrassing but the composers to ‘I Don’t Care’ and even myself have not listen to the music produced by SonyATV.” refuting accusations for plagiarism.

SonyATV has recently sent warnings to YG Entertainment on 17th September on plagiarism issues of YG Entertainment’s 4 songs. And following that, the issue was investigated into on MBC ‘Current Affairs Magazine 2580′ on 20th September.

Yang Hyun Seok said, “The song ‘I don’t care’ is the works of YG Ent’s main producer Teddy and Perry. They are 2 people who have strong pride and will not make a song which they don’t want to. And with the issue of plagiarism brought up by SonyATV has caused hurt and loss of pride by the 2 which will not be easy recovered, and had put YG Ent in public opinion.
