[News] Hyun Bin enlists with the marines!

For a total of seven weeks, he will receive basic training before beginning his 21 months of service.
His date of discharge has been set for December 6th, 2012.

He said,

"Hello, this is Hyun Bin. A lot of people have come today. I, too, left Seoul this morning at 7:00 AM. On my way over, people told me that a lot of you came despite the cold weather. Thank you all so much. Ever since last year, I’ve received a vast amount of love and support that I can’t handle on my own. I truly do not know how to pay it all back. I’ll make sure to spend my two years wisely to repay all of the love I’m receiving now two years later. I heard fans from not only Korea, but Japan and Hong Kong came as well. Time is, of course, precious and I’m thankful that they chose to spend that time on supporting my enlistment. I will make sure to come out of the army as a better man.”

Hyun Bin and Song Hye Kyo officially announced that they had broke up in January

On March 8th, the agencies of actor Hyun Bin and actress Song Hye Kyo officially announced that they had broken up in January.

The two agencies released a joint statement, that reads as follows:

“We would like to inform the public that Hyun Bin and Song Hye Kyo decided to part ways earlier this year.

The two met in 2008 through the drama, ‘The World They Live In‘, and carefully acknowledged their love soon after to the public.

However, due to their busy drama, movie, and overseas schedules, they naturally weren’t able to pay as much attention as the other needed. The excessive amount of attention from those around them was pressuring, as well as the stress they received regarding unfounded rumors detailing their break-up. They did not have the time or freedom to overcome such obstacles, leading to an inevitable gap in their relationship.

Eventually, the two agreed to part ways earlier this year. Hyun Bin and Song Hye Kyo did not release an official statement because they did not want the public’s attention to be taken away from their respective works. Hyun Bin also did not want to bring up such a personal matter while greeting the public for the final time before his enlistment. Such is the reason why we postponed the release of this information until the 8th.

We would like to apologize for not informing you of this information earlier. The two will work to show their best in their own respective positions.”

Hyun Bin enter miliarty in this March and volunteered to join the marine corps

Actor Hyun Bin was planning on entering the military in March, and it was recently revealed that he’s volunteered to join the marine corps for his military duty.

Hyun Bin has filled out the applications, and had his interview over the holiday season. His company representative said that they were waiting to hear whether the actor was accepted or not. The rep added, “His closest friend went to the marine corps; I think that was his biggest influence.”

After winning the “2010 SBS Best Actor Award“, Hyun Bin reflected, “Next year, I think I will be away from the people who are here. Thank you for giving me an award before I head off into the army at such an old age. It will be a time of self-reflection. I will return as a more mature actor.”

With the finale of his drama, “Secret Garden“, inching ever nearer, many fans are looking forward to his last efforts as an actor before he enlists.

Actress Song Hye-Gyo flew to Seattle during Chinese New Years to see her boyfriend Hyun Bin. Song Hye-Gyo left Korea through Inchon airport on Feb. 10th to see Hyun Bin in two months. It was reported that the official couple enjoyed Chinese New Year and Valentines day together.

'I Am Happy' New Korean Film,starring Hyun Bing on 26th November

Korean film "I Am Happy", starring Hallyu star Hyun Bin and Lee Bo-young, is set to open on November 26, according to a press release on Monday.

"Happy", based on a Korean short story, is about two wounded souls at a psychiatric ward -- mental patient Man-soo (played by Hyun) and nurse Soo-kyung (played by Lee), the film's distributor DCG Plus explained in the statement.

The film was directed by Yoon Jong-chan who previously made "Sorum" and "Blue Swallow", the closing film at the 14th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) which ended Friday.

He told the interviewer that their relationship started after their KBS2 drama, The World They Live In ended. He commented, "I remember people told us to stop kissing on the show becaue we did it too much. When I look back, we really did do a lot of kissing scenes!"
