This Korean pop rock sensation debuted with their first album Cheerful Sensibility in 2007, and sold over 80,000 copies that year.
The band’s name FT Island stands for Five Treasure Island, meaning that each member of the group, is a treasure.
The boyband’s official colour is sunshine yellow, which explains why their fans usually turn up in yellow for their showcases and concerts.
What sets this rock quintet apart from many Korean groups is that they play their own musical instruments, including guitar, bass, keyboard and drums. They specialise in pop rock, singing mostly fast-paced, energetic tracks.
Known for their musical flair, boyish looks and strong vocals, the young heart-throbs are extremely popular with local fans. They attracted a full-house crowd of mostly female teenage fans, some of whom queued overnight, to their showcase here at Dragonfly at St James Powerhouse Station last month. The band recently released their third album, titled Cross & Change.
